Originally derived from one of my Botanical Watercolour Paintings, how can you not smile with the rainbow of botanical colours that these flowers provide us?!! The colours are heightened during the printing process on the Tote Bag as there are quite intensely-coloured inks used. This shoulder bag is suitable at any time of the year and would be a lovely present for someone you know who has a big passion for flowers.
My aim was to find seven flowers, independent of each other in colour, texture and shape, all circling in open space. The shiny Anthurium is almost polar opposite to the velvety Pansy in the middle but they share similar hues. The Cyclamen, a common houseplant, is gracefully bowing its head in pastel pink towards the showy blue/ violet Balloon Flower. In the painting this bag was derived from, I used Winsor and Newton Professional Watercolours, as the hues and texture of the paint really suit my style of painting.
