The original drawing was created with Faber Castell Polychromos Coloured Pencils, which have a real intensity of colour and depth, and a little Faber Castell 9000 Graphite.

This specimen was extracted from my own garden, as I have a large Bamboo and its fallen leaves are always so beautiful.

Most importantly, there is so much beauty in that which is faded. From my own perspective, I always believe that when representing things from the botanical world that we should not always show a subject in its pristine form, but the varying stages of its life.
